I have pursued training in many powerful forms and approaches to therapy and healing. As a lifelong participant in therapy myself, I seek out transformative experiences for my own healing, and for my clients. I take all that I have learned, studied, and explored, and bring that to each session. My main “flavors” in session can include: cognitive behavioral approaches, mindfulness, somatic experiencing and body resourcing, BrainSpotting, internal family systems “parts” exploration, and so much more. The trainings and approaches I have gathered create a vibrant mosaic of healing. I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are at, and refining all in-session content to the unique individual – absolutely no cookie cutter approaches here; you are wonderful and unique, and your healing should be, too.
As a collaborative clinician, we work together, always in reciprocity with each other. Where you go, I follow: I am not a directive clinician or one who wants to tell you what to do, what choices to make, and how to live your life. My true goal is to support you, your healthiest and most connected self. If you have felt lost, apart from, unworthy of love, in conflict with the world, or any other sort of suffering, I am here for you.
I am licensed in the state of Minnesota (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor), and am able to provide therapy to anyone within the state of Minnesota. Therapy can be private pay, but often utilizes insurance to allow people to access services at a reduced cost (often, no cost at all – I always suggest to reach out to your insurance directly with any questions). Please see the list below of insurances accepted, I am in network with many of the larger providers. My intake process is easy, streamlined, and designed to be accessible for you to get going right away.

Brainspotting is an amazing form of nervous system reprocessing, supported by utilizing your body’s evolutionary ability to access deeper regions of brain activity using the visual field. Brainspotting can be a powerful tool to heal trauma, but also to address symptoms and experiences of all kinds: anxiety, depression, or even more complex experiences like always feeling worried and on edge, even when you “know” there is nothing to worry about. Logic and emotion reside in different regions of the brain, which can be a frustrating experience – “why do I feel this way, when everything is okay?” Your nervous system makes decisions before we are even aware of it – and these experiences reside beyond psychology of the cognitive mind, they reside in the body. Brainspotting allows us deeper access, using the body, understanding the body, to discharge the trapped energy from overwhelming or traumatic experiences.

Change how you think, change how you act, change how you feel. Cognitive awareness can be integral in healing, and a better understanding of your experience (what’s really happening) and skills to interrupt these patterns can provide clients a renewed sense of participation and engagement in their own life. I lean heavily into psycho-education, empowering my clients with the knowledge of their experience to separate from “reactions to our reactions” – like, “I get so upset and can’t even explain it, why am I so stupid? Or, “I keep reacting this way, what’s wrong with me?” Self-critical internalized narratives can take over after years of repeated thought patterns and automatic loops. Supporting my clients with a better grasp of the bio-psycho-social experiences they are having, can generate new awareness – same room, just a different side. This can support slowing down intense and automatic reactions that we are later regretful of, perpetuating behavioral loops and reinforcing negative internal narratives about ourselves. Let’s work together to empower you with knowledge, then with skills, to interrupt ancient thought patterns and support positive neuroplasticity, changing the way your brain is wired, through action and experience – necessary catalysts for positive change.
In my own life, and therefore in my clinical work, I am passionate about being present in the moment. In my own life, and therefore in my clinical work, I am passionate about being present in the moment. So much of our culture, our society, is focused on providing us opportunities to leave the moment (dissociate) – whether it be through the phone, work, or the constant demands of human life in 2023. Whether a traumatic experience made your body unsafe, or you have become disconnected from your body, signals will get louder that, you need to support your presence. Many experience physical pain sympyoms, some experience an entire inability to be present and quiet. If you dread night time, quiet time to be with your thoughts, your ability to be present in the moment has been impacted. If you work constantly to fill your schedule so there isn’t even a moment of down time, your ability to be present has been impacted. If you can’t focus no matter how hard you try, your aility to be present has been impacted. These are just a few of the indicators that can come with other distressing experiences supporting the concept that, your ability to be present in the moment has been impacted. Using somatic experiencing techniques, drawing on ancient wisdom, I incorporate many body resourcing skills that can support a safe return to the body, and therefore, to the moment. If you enjoy biology and evolution, we can take a deep dive into the systems involved. If you don’t, we don’t, and simply explore skills tthat can be helpful. I work with each client uniquely and collabortatively to create a mosaic of healing energy that includes the body, mind, and brain, to support positive neuroplasticity and new experiences from every possible dimension and angle.
